"It has been a life altering experience. I am no longer intimidated by sunlight, wind or rain. People actually compliment my hair now!"
The hair begins to exit the scalp at approximately 3 months. We set the expectation that the hair will be 1" long 6 months post procedure and 2-1/2" long at 9 months post procedure.
By transplanting the maximum amount of hair during a procedure the patient will make a significant change in their appearance. We set the expectation that all patients would benefit from a second procedure, but there are many patients who reach their goal with just one procedure. As a rule of thumb, if an area is slick bald, it will take a second procedure to achieve acceptable density.
Each patient is unique so our approaches range from the minimum to maximum amount of hair that will improve the patient's appearance. Some patients will fill in the front 1/2 or 2/3 to start, then fill in the remaining area with later procedures.
Our follow up care starts with removing the sutures between day 7-12, where we also inspect the scalp for proper healing. In 30 days we recommend a scalp cleansing at one of our facilities. During the scalp cleansing we shampoo the scalp vigorously, monitor any ingrown hairs and inspect the suture line. Nine months after the procedure the patient will meet with the surgeon and review the before photos. During this meeting the surgeon and patient will formulate a plan for additional hair or allow the result to mature until the 15 month follow up. At 15 months the patient will meet with the surgeon to gauge the improvement from the procedure. If the patient has achieved the density they desire then no additional follow up is needed. If the patient would like additional density then the surgeon will formulate how much hair can be transplanted during the next procedure.
Yes. Hair loss treatment fees can be paid with cash, bank check, credit card, or financing plans.
Yes, but not for the first 4 days.
A hair transplant takes approximately 4-7 hours depending on the size of the session.
Patients are completely awake and alert during hair replacement surgery. The hair loss procedure involves the use of only a mild local anesthetic, which allows the patient to watch television or sleep.
A topical anesthetic assures that the hair restoration procedure is virtually pain free. For the first 2-3 days, most patients find that they only need to take Tylenol if any discomfort occurs.
