AMAP Session

AMAP is another way of stating "as many as possible" number of grafts to be transplanted in once session. The actual number of grafts for an AMAP session varies from clinic to clinic. The DiStefano Hair Transpalant Center considers this number to be anywhere from 2,500 to 3,500 grafts in one sitting.

During the AMAP session, all follicle are divided into there natural growing states of 1, 2, 3 and 4 hairs. The smaller 1 haired grafts are placed in the direct front of the hairline and 2's are then placed behind those. Dr. DiStefano will usually save the 3 and 4 haired grafts to cover the mid scalp and crown to achieve fuller density.

The AMAP session reduces the number of surgeries a person may need to achieve the desired results. It also reduces the price of the overall hair transplant process.

These large AMAP sessions require a large team of experienced surgical technicians. Dr. DiStefano employs 8 full time technicians to assist in these procedures. The combined experience of his staff is over 60 years.
